Our third day focuses on the untouched depths of the virgin primary forest. A short 30-minute trip brings us from Cocha Otorongo to the calm waters of Cocha Salvador. Here, we board a stable catamaran and paddle quietly across the oxbow lake. The journey provides a relaxing pace to appreciate the scale of the jungle. By the afternoon, our boat pulls up to the riverbanks near Paititi Lodge. We check into this welcoming jungle accommodation and settle in for our final evening in the rainforest. The lodge comes well-equipped with private showers and clean toilets for a restful night.
Paititi Lodge to Atalaya Port and Return to Cusco
Our final day brings our deep-jungle adventure to a close as we prepare to say goodbye to this mysterious and magical rainforest. We board our riverboat one last time to travel back to the port of Atalaya. Upon arrival, our private overland bus waits to transport us back up into the Andes. The drive climbs through the cloud forest once more, giving us a final look at its rich flora and green canopy.
