Manu National Park

Terms and Conditions

Welcome to our website. By booking or participating in any tour, expedition, or service with us, you (the “Client”) agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Bookings & Payments

  • Initial Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of [30%] of the total tour price is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full at least [48 hours] prior to departure or during the pre-tour briefing in Cusco.

  • Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and approved digital payment gateways. Any transaction or bank processing fees are the sole responsibility of the client.

2. Cancellations & Refund Policy

We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. Because jungle expeditions require extensive advance planning—including logistics, river transport, lodging, and park permits—our cancellation terms are structured as follows:

  • Non-refundable Deposit: The initial booking deposit is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, as it is immediately used to reserve equipment, boats, lodges, and park entrance permits.

Cancellation Timeline & Refunds:

  • 30+ Days Before Departure: Full refund of any additional payments made, minus the non-refundable deposit and bank processing fees.

  • 15 to 29 Days Before Departure: 50% refund of the total tour cost.

  • 14 Days or Less (or No-Show): 0% refund. At this stage, all funds are fully committed to jungle operations (lodges, boat transport, meals, and guides) and cannot be recovered.

Cancellations due to Weather or Emergencies (Force Majeure):

  • The Amazon rainforest is an unpredictable environment. In cases of severe weather, river floods, landslides, road blockades, or government/SERNANP directives, we reserve the right to modify the itinerary or reschedule departure dates.

  • If you cannot reschedule, cash refunds are not issued for Force Majeure events; however, your credit will remain valid for future travel dates.

Quick Summary for Travelers: The earlier you notify us of a cancellation, the more funds you can recover. Once we enter the final 14 days before departure, all local resources (boat drivers, Amazon lodges, meals, and park fees) are fully locked in and non-refundable.

3. Travel Insurance & Health Requirements

  • Mandatory Travel Insurance: All participants must possess comprehensive travel insurance that includes emergency medical coverage, emergency evacuation from remote wilderness areas, and trip cancellation protection.

  • Medical Fitness: Clients must inform us prior to booking of any pre-existing medical conditions, severe allergies, dietary requirements, or physical limitations. Jungle tours involve moderate to demanding trekking, humid weather, and boat travel.

4. Nature of Jungle Travel (Assumption of Risk)

  • Remote Conditions: Manu National Park is a remote natural reserve. Clients acknowledge that medical facilities, transport infrastructure, and amenities are not comparable to urban standards.

  • Wildlife Encounters: Spotting wildlife (such as jaguars, giant river otters, or macaws) depends on natural conditions. While our guides are highly experienced, specific animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.

5. Passenger Conduct & National Park Rules

  • Clients agree to strictly adhere to all regulation rules set by SERNANP (National Service of Natural Protected Areas) and follow the safety guidelines of our certified guides (e.g., no feeding animals, leaving no trace/litter, remaining on designated trails).

  • We are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings, camera equipment, or electronics during transport or lodge stays.

6. Required Documentation

  • Travelers must carry their original passport (or valid national ID) at all times for official checkpoints when entering Manu National Park.
